The check states (in full; Washington’s writing in bold):

No. 3 Mt. Vernon Alexandria, October 6th. 1797
Pay to Abrhm. Herner – or bearer,------------------
Twenty five – Dollars, ----- Cents.
25 /100 Dollars. Go. Washington”
Signed checks by Washington rarely appear on the market and are highly desirable. This is a prime example in very fine condition.
